TITLE: A Bdelloplast ready to burst!

What is that? It is a bacterial cell that was invaded by a smaller, predator bacterial cell, called a Bdellovibrio. Once this tiny predator bores into the prey cell, the cell turns into an incubator to grow its progeny. The Bdelloplast shown here is now full of new baby predator cells, fattened from feeding on its prey’s “guts.”
