Well, I just saw the movie Dune (part two), so was imagining another world, not earth. That’s supposed to be another planet (or large moon) visible in the sky…

The dunes look incredible, what modifi did you use?

Dune shape is a couple planes (subdivided) with a Voronoi noise for displacement (one plane tilted at a slight angle for background dunes). Surface texture is just a noise texture into height input of bump node into normal input of a Principled BSDF shader with color set to a sandy color. Also used a Principled Volume shader on a cube enclosing the scene to add a haze.

I had an “out of the box idea” for this challenge. I may still make it as i really like my idea!!!
