Dang man this is coming along great! Loving the look and feel. I especially like the headlights and the light in them. Very cool. Can’t wait to see finished render!

Well did some proper scaling of the cars and added in some telephone poles a billboard sign and some quick trees. Might have snagged the Blendermania3d site logo for the billboard, at least till I figure out what to put on it. Still got to scale the Ghia tires but it is well past dinner time so I might do more later tonight if I get the chance. ( fingers crossed )

Still playing around with layout a bit and switched the cars colors up. Brightened up the scene and turned the cars headlights off as it made no sense having them on with no one in the cars. Still planning on adding some additional signage around the building and adding some additional fillers around the scene. But still keeping main focus on the cars. (which I still have to do more work on)
No compositing done to the render yet either.

They got wipers now and door handles, Moved the grass more towards the Ghia (blue car) and I added a bit of lighting to the inside of the diner along with some random tables that assist with darkening up the interior by filling it in. Still got to decide if I want to create a couple quick makehuman characters to put in the diner or if I will just go with alpha image cutouts instead.

Very nice man! It’s coming along quite well! Like the changes. I do have to say though that I much prefer the dark lighting scene by a lot. It’s just got a whole vibe and mood to it that the brighter lighting doesn’t capture for me. Even though it may not make sense the headlights being on without people in the car, I just like it a whole lot better. Again personal preference but for me personally like it much better with the colors and atmosphere of it. Captures that 70’s or whatever era vibe and I like it. Either way it’s looking awesome!

@blendermania Thanks man… Yeah I’ll be going back to a sunset/night type lighting when the final render gets posted. Mainly just using the hdri for the time being. Which is why i am lighting the diner interior now for when the environment lighting get darker.

Ok there is a little more with lighting done and still got to add interior to the Plymouth but calling it stopping point for tonight.

Got two lovebirds in the Ghia and one lonely person by the jukebox inside. Lit the inside of the Ghia where the stereo light would be illuminating the interior a bit to reveal them a little better as well. Still have to do the interior of the Plymouth before I add two others characters inside of it.
Oh and one other glaring 3am mistake that needs fixed are the parking lot lines. LOL shouldn’t be two side by side like they are in the image so got to re-paint that as well. But it is getting there.

hopefully i can get more done tonight.Ok I went back to the Ghia being red and the Plymouth blue, added in the neon around the top of the building and advertisement wording as well, filled in the Plymouth with an interior and painted the parking lot lines properly and not doubled like it was. Next up adding in another character in the Plymouth.
After that’s all done then I can move on to deciding what else to add into the scene.

This looks awesome man! I just had the idea or thought of having this in a rainy scene which would look awesome. So like a light drizzle coming down and puddles of water etc. Of course it would be completely different and not the direction you are going but just a thought I had. Looks great as is, definitely look forward to seeing it finished

@blendermania Yeah smaller doesnt really show the water on the vehicles too well. And the rain isnt quite visible so that needs adjusted a bit with additional lighting. Think i might actually go with this look. Thanks for the suggestion/idea.

yeah I love it. Looks really cool. Like the puddles and the rain on the cars etc. The only thing I don’t like is the rain falling down. IDK it seems too big and too long or something. Something about it is off. But otherwise I love it! Very nicely done!
