It’s still WIP. This project taught me a lot using Sharp function especially in a Subdiv workflow.
The goal here is to push my hard surface modelling skill to new level by tackling this type of complex shapes.
Awesome Job!! You’re Getting Really good at modeling!!
Thanks man
Great job! Keep it up!
Nicely done man! Now to the whole car! ![]()
I thought on this for a little, I somehow thought there was no 4 lug wheels, but found out quickly I was wrong, I would like to see the wire with out the subsurf on before I give my input, but so far it looks alright
Ok I am going to get critical here and explain this as best as I can, from a far , everything looks good, it has the shape , looks pretty cohesive , but if we drop it down to the basics, and take away the smoke. We quickly see issues and this is why I asked for a wireframe so that maybe I could teach you something. So in your wireframe I broke down the issues to try to explain better with visual. First thing I noticed is the holes seemed odd, reason being these are pentagons its a odd number, you want to stick with even numbers. At the bare minimum you should use 6 sided circles, sweet spot is 8. because of this you circles are not completely circular because its not even or symmetrical.
Next topology is a little bit of a mess and a lot of this is because of those pentagons, because you started with those , its like running up a hill with a boulder tied to your leg, you are making yourself so much more work. Just from me changing those to the 6 sides you can see how it would connect up so much easier just from the drawing and how much more even the topology would be. I am guessing you did this maybe cause its 5 forks. How I would fix this, delete out the center (red all the way around), set you six points circles (green) to the positions, extrude the outer line (blue) inward, make its a circle evenly around and then connect it up to the new holes (green). you can even try to keep the inner circle and see if you can make it work. you want to keep it all as simple as possible. For a beginner it was a valiant attempt, it just needs a little fixing
I’m absolutely grateful for your advice. @Gralous
If you still need help, I would be willing to try to stream it on discord to you, just shoot me a msg. if you need it.
