Recent study on Unity

Reminds me of Pontypants devblog boxing game but with wrestlers!

He used Unreal Engine but he did consider changing to Unity…or was it the other way around?

Good luck with your journey!

Well I dont remember entirely but something like that.
I think he went from unity to unreal.
And to be quite honest, unity is trash if you put it against unreal.
That is mainly due to their stupid payment model (as of 2023 that is).
And even in terms of pure performance, unreal comes out on top (there are way too many videos explaining that).
However, imo this is how you could choose the game engine you use:
Use unity for fantasy games which are toon shaded which are also targeted to low-end machines (including mobiles).
Use Unreal for ultra-realistic games or cool looking fantasy games which are a bit more professional.

I personally started my game dev journey on a potato of a laptop which meant unity was the way to go.
Mainly cuz unreal is a professional tool which runs on professional hardware (unlike my 8gb ram ddr3 self).

The only problem now tho is… I kinda like unity-
Over the 4 years of getting used to it… I got a new laptop ;-;

It’s just local multi controller support

And here is another test project to implement basic UI logic with i18n support
