Entry for pwnisher (Clint Jones) Rampage Rally community challenge. Ships and walls assembled using parts from Modelshop Greebles kit (Big Medium Small) and Spaceship : Legacy kit (Kitbash3D), ‘heart’ object from Sketchfab, chamber kitbashed from my own Spaceship Pack. Except for the ‘heart’ chamber, all other scenes are rendered on Fox Renderfarm, modeling and animation done in Blender, postpro with DaVinci Resolve and Blender, music by meloddict on Pixabay.
There are still some things that I still wanted to add or change, but time and especially hardware constraints limited my options. The initial idea is inspired by Death Star trench run scene in Star Wars especially the part where the rebels shot torpedoes into the generator thing. During the making, I had an idea to make the generator as organic-made instead of mechanical one, and thus the ‘heart’ object. As the name suggests, this was meant as a mission to rekindle something that had been frozen, possibly by the enemy.
“Is it a meant to be human heart? If so, is this represent the inside of a human body, or maybe metaphorical? Maybe it was a giant bio-mechanical stellar engines? Why the enemy chose to freeze it instead of destroy it? What will happen if the mission is successful? Maybe it should not be revived as it was actually an evil thing?”
Those multiple possibilities is actually one key reason I chose the ‘heart’ object instead of some engines or generators, which also provides a surprise that was initially ‘hidden’ by the wall and only revealed at the end of the animation.
