Go Go Power Rangers!

Is it cheesy to say it was ‘Tailor Made!?’

This is 90’s Power Rangers. Lay on the cheese like a supreme pizza. xD

great stuff Drift!

Legs are being constructed. Not much left!

Red Tyrannosaurus is completed! At last! To be fair, I was really ready to be done with this guy. T-Rex was never my favorite (I did like it though), but all the details and meticulous details in functionality and such, it’s become rather tiresome. But he’s done! And within a week’s time!

… I probably should have a little break.

Okay, break’s over! Now that the Pink Pterodactyl is done and Red Tyrannosaurus is completed, next is the Black Mastodon! Here’s a first look at its base!

The Mastodon is going to be complex, as it composes the arms of the Megazord. However, its pieces are larger and blockier, so that might make it easier, actually? At least easier than the T-Rex was. We’ll see when this gets done. I’m not going to push myself too hard, but I do hope to get it done in a decent amount of time.

More meticulous work to get measurements right, but not nearly as tedious as the T-Rex. Again, things subject to change as things further refine, but it’s looking good so far.

Trying to perfect the arms bit by bit. These are going to be complex to rig so they move right, but I think I know what to do. The “M” sign on the shoulders changed a bit as I went, getting it more accurate.

Mastodon’s got the majority of the body! Just needs the Megazord fists and the back covers for that to be done. Afterward, the head will be constructed!

Hands and covers added! Body complete! Now it needs the head.

Neck has been made, ready for the beginning of the head. It’s an interesting shape, so it might take a while to get right. However, we’re having some bad snow in this area, so I should have some time to figure out at least the beginning.

I mention the snow in saying that due to weather, I’m not going anywhere for a while.

The head is getting underway! Just a bit more…

Black Mastodon is complete! There might be tweaking later. But only for small details or bits of the rig for fine-tuning. But for my current purposes, the third Zord is in the lineup! Although he’s definitely going to need multiple rigs for different purposes on-screen.

With three Zords down, I’m at the halfway point of my project and it hasn’t actually been a whole month, yet! I call this a victory, for sure. So, to celebrate the occasion, here’s the half-time show: The three Zords so far!

The Blue Triceratops has begun production! This one may take me a bit longer because it can be a little… deceptive in its simplicity. I imagine the head will take the longest, but it’s also about trying to get the proportions right. After all, it’ll be used to measure the Sabertooth Tiger, so this needs to be as accurate as possible for size and such. A lot more meticulous work, like the Mastodon, but less major engineering involved.

That, and I’m not exactly feeling very good… If any of you know one of the more major parts of my history, you’ll know why. Especially regarding this time of year.

Regardless, I’m still aiming to get my Zords. Here’s what I have so far.

Main body is being simple enough… Smooth sailing so far.

While still subject to tweaking, I did manage to get more done today than I thought I would. The backside has some detail and the tail is pretty much complete. Construction-wise, it needs its sides/treads and head done and it’ll be complete. But I think some fine-tuning might be required. At least its core body is the proper size, though! This will ensure a good Megazord leg and thus, a good measuring tool for the Sabertooth Tiger.

Top picture kinda looks like a tape dispenser.

Tail lengthened. I thought it was too short, and I think I got it right, now. So, onto the treads and sides next, I think!
