Done with the main hull/plating, took some times to make a motif/pattern that I’m satisfied with. Still need to detail the bottom side and the stabilizer/rear parts next.

How did you learn to make airships?? I think it’s really cool and I’d love to learn how to do things like this

Thank you, and also welcome to the site !

Overall it’s a result of learning some subjects that related to what you want to make while also inspired by others. Talking example the main body/plating of the ship, it’s mainly plane object with creases assigned into some parts in order to achieve a desired shape/form. For this case, subdivision modeling practice is required.

For some other parts the shape is further formed or enhanced by simply cutting them with boolean objects.

Then for the rotating wheels at the rear is using radial array, and the rune circle is using 2D texture with alpha.

Basically mashing up together knowledge you have. Might not be a direct result at first, trying to replicate your favourite ship / character / things could be a good start, then once you’re able to achieve somewhat satisfying result you can try to explore and create your own. Hope this long rambling is able to answer your question! :grinning:

Since it’s done in the air, the painting method is called ‘air-brushing’
